Extreme Couponing

And my family and some friends thought/think I'm crazy for carrying a 3-ring binder full of coupons in base ball card holders. Not to mention, fully equipped with scissors, pens, envelopes, and a highlighter. Who knows when you may run across a store coupon and need to cut it out.

I sometimes thought I was a little overboard on some days and stores (Bi-Lo) with my couponing. Sometimes so bad that John would not want to be seen with me in the store!  :)  All of this is before my sister called me last night to tell me to put it on a show on TLC. The show?  Extreme Couponing

I can no longer say I am a good couponer. Not after watching the show last night. One lady, a retired RN, walks around her neighborhood every Monday to get the neighborhoods discarded, unused coupons and papers.  She then takes these coupons clips them and uses them for her own shopping.  During the show, she and a friend went to the store to do some shopping, with all her coupons in tow. She spend over $600 dollars in groceries and ended up actually paying around $6.35!!!!!  That's around a 93% savings!!!!

The next person on the show, a male, and the last person on the show was wwwaaayyy overboard.  He spent over $5,000.00 in groceries and actually ended up paying a little over $500.00.  He had a savings of around 95%!!! In this visit, he purchased 1100 boxes of cereal and only paid $150 for them. He purchased them to donate to his churches food bank.

After seeing this show, I now know that I still have a lot to learn when it comes to couponing.  A good thing though is that my sister wants to learn now. So even if I can teach her what little bit I currently know, maybe she too can start saving some money and quit paying full price for everything!!!

Do any of you have any helpful hints, tips, etc that you use and wouldn't mind sharing? I'm up for all kinds of learning saving now!

Happy Shopping and Couponing!

Yahoo cooperated today

This is the other picture I wanted to post of Blay last night.  This is him and his daddy in the snow trying out his BIG present from Santa. Unfortunately, the new tires didn't like the fresh snow so he got stuck and had to be 'pushed' to the driveway.

This picture is taken around 815 or so. As you can tell, we had a good bit of snow on the ground and it was still falling pretty good.

White Christmas

It was white all right. Had close to an inch by 7 am and by Sunday, about 7-8 inches!!!

We left town after Santa came and while the snow was pouring out of the sky to go see our out of town family for Christmas. It's probably good we did though because it was too cold and wet for any of us to be out in the snow, since we were all sick and medicated. Two of the three of us still are.

After John and I got up and got ready for our trip, we sat waiting on Blay to get up. Around 7 am, his little head poked from around the corner of his bedroom door into the living room. He wanted my hand to see what Santa had left. Santa left the presents at the fireplace, and not the tree. So, when Blay saw the tree and nothing there, he kind of stopped, then started walking again and finally saw where 'Santa' left the presents.

The smaller presents were loaded in the back of his BIG present. As you can see, it's already been put to good use!

I think the picture is funny! The snow was falling so fast that everytime Blay looked up, snow would hit his eyes and he said 'It's freezing my eyes'!  So funny.

I am trying to get another picture on here of him in the snow in the yard but apparently, Yahoo isn't cooperating tonight!  :)  And, since most of our capturing of Christmas was done on the video camera, I unfortunately don't have but two pictures of Blay playing on Christmas day at our house.   The ones taken at family will be loaded to Picasa soon.

And so will all the family vacation pictures! So keep an eye out.

Yes, we still have some snow, more on the porches and in the woods but it is melting more and more every day! I'm glad we are going to be having some warmer temperatures at the end of this week, even if it is coming with rain!

And, it's past my bedtime so I'm going to sign off and try to post the other picture tomorrow!

Good night my friends! May God continue to bestow blessings on you!

Lots of love!

Ice!!!

That's it. A few flurries yesterday, then some sleet, then nothing. I leave WalMart in the cold, with Blay in tow, pick up dinner, and head home.

Get home, feed Blay, go outside, it's sleeting so I bring the dog in.

I go outside an hour later and about bust my hind end on the driveway! SOLID ICE!!! John's truck, SOLID ICE!!!

Wednesday night is usually church night but I made the executive decision (since I was alone) to not go to church since we were out late on Tuesday night. I am glad I did not attempt to go or I would of been in trouble when I started up our mountain home!!!

Fellow friends have had some falls in which one ended up with a broken wrist.

I would much rather have the soft white stuff we had on Sunday and Monday. And in fact, still remains in our yard and woods. NO ICE! Just stay away ice because you make the day no fun!

As promised, see some pictures below of Blay outside on Monday when the weather was FRIGID! (But no ice!)

Here we go again

Again with what? More snow, ice, rain, and wind.  We still have snow and ice on our yard, sidewalks, and porches.

I love the snow but twice in one week. I don't think I can handle much more of it this week. Let's wait until Christmas. Can we please!

I'll post some pictures of Blay from Monday's 3 inch snowfall soon.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Lots of love-

It's beginning to look...

Like Christmas at our home. Finally! Since we decided to leave at 3 am on Black Friday for our vacation, the tree was not bought nor the decorations removed from the attic until this past week.

Blay picked out our tree with John this year while I was at home sick. It's a pretty tree. Blay says it's 'beautiful'.  As a surprise, he's already received a present. After the lights and beads were placed on the tree last night, Blay was given a present. The present was his ornament for this year to hang on the Christmas Tree.  He gets a special ornament each year.

This year, I kept up the tradition from the past two years with Hallmark.  This ornament (click on word) is the third one he's received. Last year I took a picture of him holding the #2 ornament. I will do the same this  year when I get the tree completely decorated and Blay in his Christmas pajamas.  I don't have the #1 in the series because he got two or three different ones from grandparents on his very first Christmas. Because of this, I am going by his age with the ornaments! I like to be different!  :P

Once all the decorating is done, I will take pictures and show off some (not all because I need more stuff) of our home. I am super excited about the nativity tea light scene I got from Dayspring for free (just paid for shipping) thanks to my friend and fellow blogger Mandy!  More to follow about how this happened with pictures of course!

Well, I guess I should get back to work. So much to do!!!

PS - Jill, fried mushrooms sounds ABSOLUTELY DELISH!!! I've actually been craving some!  Just give me some fFried mushrooms and fried pickles and I'll be happy!!!

I wonder...

why sometimes I try to keep up with this blogging thing for many of reasons:

1. I'm not good at it like my many counterparts (see below left)
2. I'm not consistant
3. Should all this really be on the internet

What do you think? Should I keep up with the ever so random blogging posts or just stop? I love to blog, love to read blogs, I just don't always have the time or energy for it.

BTW - I will be uploading the vacation pictures to a new Picasa site I plan on creating this weekend so don't forget to check back. I'll have the link on here like of do of Blay's monthly pictures.

Lots of love!

Our Turkeys

Not a lot to report right now. Not a lot going on, just yet.  But, I did want to share with you the craft project Blay and I did last night.

I was sitting with him in the living room floor playing tractors when the urge to make something for Thanksgiving/Turkey Day hit. So I went after the construction paper, scissors, pencil, and super glue.

Yes, super glue. I'm so 'out of' the craft thing right now I don't even own a bottle of Elmers!  However, it is on my list for Wal-Mart today!  :)

Below, see the picture of the end product. My first true 'craft' project with Blay, unless you count finger painting!

I think our project came out well. I placed them, one on each side, of the 'tree' he made at school last year on our sofa table.  I'll have to take a picture and show you soon!

I want to say special thanks to my friends Jill and Mandy for encouraging me to continue blogging. I know I have seriously slacked on this but I hope to keep it up and blog more often.

Lots of Love!

I have successfully got all the pictures off my camera and phone, into their perspective folders on our computer!

Even more?!

I have officially updated our Picasa website to OCTOBER 2010!!!

!!!YAHOO!!!

And even more? I am going to attempt to create another Picasa website just for vacation pictures.

All the pictures. In albums. On the computer. Why not show them off?

I am excited.

I am thrilled.

Now, to get caught up on getting pictures up-to-date on printing and placing in albums.

When to start that?

Here are some pics of my little hunter!

Here are a couple videos...

I don't even know where to start. I am utterly exhausted after the busy weekend!

Started the weekend off on Friday by rounding up what I could of Blay's used baby clothing and items to pack up and take to my sister. Who, is expecting a little girl in January. The only downside is (and the reason for the prayers for her) is she keeps having contractions and is already dialated.

We also bought Blay's BIG Christmas present Friday! Thank you Academy Sports for having the incorrect price tag above the item!!!

On Saturday, I got up at ready because we (Blay and I) had a very busy day ahead. I loaded up the car with the rest of the items I would need for the day and Blay and off we took.

First stop was Factory Card Outlet for a baby shower and birthday card along with balloons, cups, and streamers.

Second stop was to Lowe's to look for a rug and window treatments for my newly decorated sunroom. (Pictures to come soon.) Blay isn't too keen on not having his 'playroom' any more. He does still have a television and some toys in there though!

I needed wanted to go to Hobby Lobby but, it was time to head to Blay's girlfriend birthday party. It was busy busy there. Lots of kids and lots of parties going on. He got to play with some of the kiddos from church then join everyone for pizza and cake & some present time. (Pictures to follow.)

Unfortunately, we had to leave the 'girlfriends' party early because, off to another party we went. My sister's baby shower!! En route though, we still had to stop and pick up tablecloths and the food!!!

We finally made it to my sister's house and had just enough time to set up (even thought family was already there). Blay spent all afternoon playing with is cousin and some other friends.

Yesterday, we got up and went to church and enjoyed a great Veteran's Day service. So much to thank our Veteran's for and a "thank you" is never enough.

Afterwards, we went home and worked around the house. John and Blay outside while I was busy on the inside. Where does all that laundry come from!?!?

Later in the afternoon, John took Blay hunting. It was the cutest thing ever! He was sooo excited to be going hunting!!! I never thought he would have lasted as long as he did but he lasted a little over an hour in the woods. John thinks he started getting a little cold but he was quiet and still most of the time.

Finally, when I get home, I will post some of the above pics, even the ones of my little hunter. For some reason, Blogger is not wanting to cooperate right now.

Fall is Here

It's finally here!!! My most favorite time of the year! Fall, football, hunting, and cool weather!

My only complaint is this, please rain!!! I want to be able to enjoy the pretty beautiful colors of fall but if it doesn't rain, I'm afraid we won't get to. Right now, the leaves are just falling off the trees, dead. No color, nothing!

We are looking at having a large bonfire this weekend. Just the three of us. We have a big humongous brush pile we need to burn and if the burn people say it's okay to burn, then we are going to burn. We'll even buy marshmellows and hotdogs to roast while it's going.

John told Blay about it last night. He was soo excited about it, after his daddy left. :p

He even prayed and thanked God for the bonfire and marshmellows and hotdogs! He even prayed for his Mamaw Crazy. He is soo funny. But, he does know one thing! That Jesus loves him! And that just melts my soul!

Nothing beats him humming or singing "Jesus Loves Me" every day!

Love to all!

Picasa

Happy RAINY Sunday everyone! I am enjoying yesterday and today's weather soo much! I am loving the rain! And the much cooler temperatures. It is 67 degrees at my house right now! LOVE IT!

Blay has enjoyed being home. In fact, he slept until almost 8 this morning. I was already in the shower so we could begin our Sunday ritual of breakfast, dressing, and then church. He has been a mommy's boy since he has been home, which is perfectly.fine.with.me. I missed my little man tremendously. But, I shall confess a little time away was good for all of us.

Blay is currently outside riding his Jeep with his daddy passing football to Kai. Since it's not raining at the moment, he was begging to go out. He doens't care what the weather is like outside, he always likes being outdoors.

I have been working on pictures today. I uploaded Labor Day pictures to Facebook. I know have to pick out some from our Seattle trip to upload to Facebook. While in the process, I have also updated the Picasa site (see right column). I haven't done this since January so please forgive me. I got up to August. There were not any May pictures that I could find.

Why? I am getting bad about not taking any pictures or not recording any videos of my little man. I really have to get better with that. Well, with a lot of things.

I am off to finish my dinner. Parmesean Chicken Skillet! Yum!

To an end

What a visit in this city. A rather large city. The city of coffee. Full of many different characteristics and characters to say the least. A city with all the lights, sounds, and lots of strange and neat lives.

I have caught myself wondering how someone could be happy in a city such as this? With a Starbucks or two to every block, with another coffee cafe thrown into the midst. With a Capital Hill, mulitple languages, sports, cultures, lifestyles, and money.

Sports. A true passion. Ichiro and Aardsna are as good as they say they are. The fans get into the games and even talk about the other professional sports during the games. A lot of team pride, both professional and collegiate.

It's true what they say about this city, a city of grunge. I have seen much of this grunge, and I have seen much of other lifestyles. There are certain areas of town dedicated to support just them.

Also true is the mix of races. Such a neat place full of different cultures, natives, and much more. The ChinaTown district was neat. A place of shopping just for them. A shopping place full of neat foods, veggies, and household items.

Art is mandatory in this city, and must be used in every public space project. Many old and new but creative arts I have seen. In some of the weirdest strangest places they can be located. One piece, a large metal/steel umbrella, blown in the wind in the middle of a road, next to the market.

A bridge, floating on pontoons to the west of the Husky campus was unique. Making the bridge experience even more remarkable was the spotting of a Bald Eagle on the side of the bridge. In it's natural state, on the edge of Lake Washington. Watching. Waiting. In it's natural environment.

There is a lot of beauty outside of this great city. Places we were able to make it to this trip. The arbetorium. The Japanese Garden. Puget Sound. There other places I have documented to do the next time we visit, which is a must. All areas outside the city.

We connected with distant family here. The sweetest people, and great tour guides.

A city beautiful at night, with the Needle pointing towards the never ending sky. Water in the background and all aroud. The smells of fish and flowers at the market. A rather unique place and one visited often. Lite by the city lights.

While I enjoyed the short time in this city, I officially say I have had my 'share' of this, what some would say, great city. While I do plan to return someday, to see the family again, I plan on staying out of the city. Maybe out on the Sound or near Ranier or Helen. With a definite trip to British Columbia.

City life such as this is not for me. Never will be. So goodbye to the great city full of places and things I have never seen. An experience it was. I gladly welcome home, part of home that is.

What a life

Shopping. Cheesecake. Family. Pumpkin Spice Latte. Relaxing. Friends. Devotion time. What more does there need to be?

Loving this week.

Now things are starting to calm down

Now that things are starting to calm down around our house, I'm hoping I can start getting back in to this blogging thing. It has been busy around our house, but hey, whose how is not crazy busy?

What a summer we have had! I've enjoyed the summer. We did not take a vacation, per se, but are planning on taking one this fall/winter. When the crazies kiddos are all in school and tourism is low. That is one thing about having a child in pre-school right now. We can travel whenever.

We just spent Labor Day weekend at the in-laws cabin in Gatlinburg, TN and while we were there, went to Dollywood. Some of you will laugh but, I.have.never.been.to.Dollywood. Yep, that's right, Labor Day was my first time ever. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I would have enjoyed it about 4 years ago.

I get crazy motion sickness now. Thanks to Blay and pregnancy. I don't know if it is hormones or what but I can't even hardley ride in a car, much less try to read or try to do Sudoku puzzle without feeling sick. I wonder what does that to us women?

Upcoming on Septembe 23rd is my favorite time of the year! AUTUMN.BEGINS.
I absolutely love the fall. I got married in the fall for the reason of the beautiful colors painted on the earth during this time. I have not done much in the way of decorating yet. I will begin decorating next weekend.

I am up for a project though! Thanks to Mandy and all her blogger buddies, I am going to attempt to make two topiaries for the fall for our newly stoned fireplace. I am also going to try and snag the beautiful wreath Mandy got at Target . I also have to find some decor for my newly furnished dining room.

WE.FINALLY.BOUGHT.FURNITURE!!!!! Or shall I say it finally arrived.

I will be checking out the Fall Nesting Party for some very cute, creative, and inspiring ideas for more fall decorating. I love, love, love this time of year.

Oh wait, didn't I already say that? :D

Love to all!

Not enough Time & A Great Giveaway

I know I haven't actually been on here in forever to update you with anything 'personal'. Life. Has. Been. Hectic. With the birthday party, an event every weekend, family visits, etc. there has not been much time for me to do anything for myself, much less, blog.

For that. Please forgive me! I won't get to personal at this moment (but don't worry, updates will be coming later today and so is a new blog design). I actually jumped on here at the moment to tell you about a great giveaway being done by my friend Mandy!

She has teamed up with the Gussy Shop for a great giveaway. And believe me, with the things you can buy from the Gussy Shop, you will not be disappointed at checking out the giveaway.

Thanks to Mandy for a chance to enter and share the love!

Talk with you all soon!

Marriage-A MUST read

MARRIAGE

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.

She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that every day for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Jane about my wife's divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside
the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...I walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.
My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push thru with the divorce.-- At least, in the eyes of our son--- I'm a loving husband....

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you.

If you do, you just might save a marriage.
Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

A CHRIST-CENTERED MARRIAGE IS A MARRIAGE THAT IS SURE TO LAST A LIFETIME.

So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate. Matthew 19:6

~~Heat Wave~~

I don't remember the last time we have had such a Heat Wave this early in the summer. I don't think he have had a day that has not been above 90 degrees in over two weeks now. It's miserable outside, and the humidity is even worse! My poor car needs a major bath but I can't (won't) do it right now because I'm a wimp! I don't like weather this hot unless I'm on my favorite beach or in a pool.

Speaking of pools, John blew up Blay's whale pool from his Mamaw Friday. This was after the slip and slide didn't go over so well. I think if he would of had another kid to do the slip and slide with, he would have loved it like he did at Elijah's 9th birthday party. Either way, here is a picture of Blay in his cold whale pool on Friday.

Saturday morning started out great for us. Breakfast followed by Blay's first of many trips to the potty that day and a pair of big boy underwear to follow. Once we got outside and the heat hit, he was ready to get into his pool. I changed him to his swim trunks. He got in the pool. He got out of the pool. Pool was a little cold from him.

So then we moved on to the sprinkler, better labeled as 'Daddy's Sprinkler'. He played in the sprinkler for a good little while, even though it was cold. I guess the offset of the sun and just running through it didn't bother him.

We spent the rest of Saturday spending time with famiy and Aunt Brooke since she was in from CT. Yummy tacos and guacamole! We also started wearing 'big boy' underwear on Saturday. Blay has had some accidents but has done pretty good so far. The only time we are letting him in pull-ups is during nap and bed time. Hopefully he'll be potty trained come August 15!

LOVE TO ALL!

Camping Day 3 and Home (on 6/23)

Blay had an exciting third and last day of camping. He fished and swam and ate. I think these three things are now his favorite things to do.

Here is a little video of Blay and his Papaw working on catching some catfish.

Of course, after this full day of swimming and fishing, he crashed and slept all night with his Mamaw by his side.

The next day, breakfast. Eggs and pancakes!

And after breakfast, another swimming round. Here is a video of him jumping into the pool. He eventually got to where he would jump in without floaties and by himself, with Papaw right there of course.

We finally got Blay home last night. We all had dinner at Ruby Tuesday (gotta love their incredibly yummy salad bar) and then went home for bed. Unfortunately, that didn't turn out as planned. He didn't go to sleep until after 10 and I spent about 5-6 hours in his bed just so he would stay asleep. Needless to say, Mommy is tired! He was in a good mood this morning and ate pancakes for breakfast before school. The real test of time is going to be after school today. With a shortened nap time at school, I would say it is going to be pretty interesting.

Talk to you soon!

Camping Day 2

So day two of camping was a blast for Blay. I think he wore his papaw out because they both took naps after lunch yesterday! He went to the pool twice and wanted to go back for a third time but changed his mind. He instead went fishing after eating his dinner. He said he wants to catch a big catfish! I don't think he's gotten it yet but he's determined to try!

Last night before bed, he decided to play silly and put on his papaw's straw hat. Here's my little camping hillbilly.

After his full day of two swimming trips, playing with his papaw and little friends, and fishing, he crashed after a big bowl of cereal. As always, his 'b's' and his 'baby blankie' was by his side.

He is soo sweet here! I could just snuggle up with him! He slept until 8 am this morning and when he woke up, he ate eggs, sausage, and biscuits with homemade jelly. All he has done is eat! Maybe his clothes will start fitting him a little better now. Here is a picture of his breakfast spread. He's watching Dora while he's eating.

My baby isn't coming home today as initially planned. Mamaw and Papaw are keeping him until tomorrow, which is okay with me. Oh yea, he's been in underwear and has had one accident so far. It looks like I may not have to be buying any more pull-ups other than at bedtime. Potty training may be coming sooner than I thought! Yea!

Love to all!

First Day of Camping

Blay is camping this week some with his Mamaw and Papaw at Caney Creek. He has only been one other time without me and it was just for a night as I usually like to go. Since I'm working now, me being there is not really an option.

He left for camping yesterday afternoon and in the 24 hours he has been there, he has had a full blast time. Fishing, playing with other neighboring kids, swimming, walking, etc. They are staying on the river so he is also watching a lot of the boats and jet skis, which is just 'cool' to him.

He will be spoiled when he gets home, but that is what grandparents are supposed to do right? He wasn't with them 30 minutes and he had already suckered them into buying a new John Deere toy on the way to the campground at WalMart.

They proceeded to the camp ground to fish and swim, and eat again. He keeps them busy for sure. I've received a few pictures today of him playing.

Blay riding his motorcycle while Mamaw is doing her morning walk.

Blay sitting at the Kiddie Pool with Papaw.

Blay swimming with his new Batman float.

He's now sound asleep, per a text from his Mamaw, and I should assume, he will sleep well as the above three pictures were since 830 am. He will be one tired boy when he gets home.

Oh yea, Blay's birthday party will be on August 14th, at 5 pm at our house on the mountain. He has a wish list started at WalMart for easier shopping.

Talk to you all soon!

How many times.....

Have I started to write a blog and not had the time to finish it? Three times now. I started the first one around 4/14, then the second one the week after, and the third one a week after that. Now here I am (only because I can't work just yet this morning due to system problems) to do a quick summary of the past month.

In a nutshell, absolutely crazy!!!! We have gone pretty much none stop since Easter weekend, and that started with going to the Zoo and starting our landscaping projects. Since, we have taken a sabatical on landscaping (except when the massive storms and rain mess it up), spring cleaned the house, traveled for an unexpected funeral, had John's birthday, and many many more things.

In the midst of this though, I have managed to make it to Bi-Lo and CVS, during the week to score some really good deals! I am really looking forward to going to CVS this week to get a lot more free (cheap) stuff, like pull-ups and toilet paper! Who doesn't enjoy that!

We have also been working on potty training a lot more. Since they have started the sticker system at daycare, we can see a little better how Blay is doing at school pottying. So far, in less than two weeks, he's gotten two stickers. He does manage to go sometimes at home, but I have to ask. We've also had accidents at home while wearing big boy underwear. Nothing like making your two year old help clean out his poppy underwear. (And not think it is disgusting!!!!)

My plan is to have him potty trained by July. I am looking for the plastic pants (underwear) so if any of you know where I can find them, PLEASE tell me!!! I am desperate. I think this will be my only way to do it.

Something new has also started in our home. INSANITY!!!! And that is the best word to describe the workout program. I have heard many people say it is more extreme and a lot hard than P90X. John does it when he can on his lunch hour while I do it either while dinner is cooking or after dinner. The later is not the best option because it is so intense, you end up....nevermind. I think you get the picture.

Anywho, please pray for John's dad who is having some outpatient surgery tomorrow. They are hoping it is nothing major. And, pray for me while I do INSANITY.

I hope to talk to you all really really soon! And post pictures too! I PROMISE....

Love to all,
Christy

Okay, so we've all seen the commercials on tv for the advertisement of the new Purex 3-1 Laundry invention but have been a skeptic like me. I have also wondered if it would even work in my washing machine. Why? I have to use the HE laundry products. But either way, you can atleast get a sample of the new product whether you can use it or not. I am going to get it and atleast see. If it can't use it, I know plenty of other who can try it.

FREE PICTURES!!!

Okay, who doesn't love FREE picture developing! While I don't develop every picture I make I will say I am wwwaaayyy behind in developing some for memeories. For example, my plan for Blay was to develop 4 pictures a month from the time he was born until, um, whenever to put in an album. I did okay for the first few months but have dropped off significantly. I have also failed to print any pictures from our Hawaii trip in 2009 to put in the neat little album I have from there. Soo, I am going to take advantage of the CVS offer right now.

If you sign up as a new user, you get 50 FREE PRINTS! So go on and enjoy!

Awful blogger

I know I am an awful blogger! I love, love, love to do this but I can not find the time to do it like I want to. Stupid work!!! LOL!

Not to mention blogging, I don't have time to go online and order FREE pictures! Yes, Free!!! I am awful but we have been soooo busy outside I can't do anything else.

Since we didn't move in until the end of June, we missed all the pruning and planting, etc from last year. The landscaping was not in great condition and there were a lot of plants, etc that were in the wrong places and planted in the wrong conditions.

So far, we have planted 13 Green Giant Arbor Vitea's, 4 blueberry plants, 3 forsythia's, 4 day lilies, 2 butterfly plants, 2 hummingbird plants, 4 Dogwoods, 2 Azaleas, 6 Otto Luykens, 5 Blue Rug Junipers, and 1 Bradford Pear. We have transplanted many day lilies, 2 azaleas, 3 Holly bushes, 1 'unknown' bush, and 2 Fire Nandinas. To top it off, we aren't finished!!! There is so much more work and planting to be done with our yard, etc.

Now, on to Blay! I am almost to scared to say anything but my 'angel' has been just that. His problem right now is not wanting to go to sleep or sleep by himself. He keeps saying the lions are coming to get him and his monkeys. I'm not sure what he's been watching or dreaming about that involve lions but it's sad. He came walking into the bedroom at 2 am this morning scared of the lions. I laid down with him in his bed until he was sound asleep and he slept until I got him up to eat his breakfast.

He has been playing in the yard with us and it is soooo funny to watch him in imaginary play. I don't know what he thinks half the time but would love to find out. He starts talking about stuff out of the blue and we have no idea of where it came from. He does that with singing too. Saturday, Blay and I went to Wal-Mart and he just started shouting, I mean singing, "God Our Father" and did it over and over again. It got embarrassing at one point in time. He'll even do this in the vehicle. He's so darn cute, and smart! Have I mentioned that?

He's also into the 'Why' phase! I absolutely hated when my nephew went through this phase. You have to go in to A LOT of detail and have to make-up or white lie through some of the explanations because I simply, just don't know. His curiosity is amazing and rapidly growing. I wish his potty training was the same.

We've backed off it this area some because he started to 'hold' the number 2 and I didn't want him to do this. We still ask him if he wants to go and talk to him about it but I'm not threatening him or pressuring him to do it anymore. It'll come in his own time. Just not soon enough to me.

Well, I think that is a good update for now. I will post some pictures tonight or tomorrow because I will have to get on the internet at home tonight or tomorrow to order my free pictures and job search! Pray for that tooo please, oh pretty please!

Lots of Love,

HUGE apology

Hello to everyone! I am sure most if not all of you are glad to see that a live person is here instead of something in regards to a free sample of something or another.

I have been a BIG slacker on blogging like I should lately. If only I were not so busy!!! I'm not kidding, I feel like I never stop. I shouldn't weigh as much as I do but I do (dern those LIttle Debbie's for that) because I don't sit down unless I'm at work or bathing Blay.

I will, I won't say I promise, because admit it, the first beautiful warmest day of the year is right now, and I want to be out playing in it! I will try however; to post some updated pictures for you this weekend. I do have some from the last snow (March 3rd!!!) that I want to show you. Blay was a part of his 2nd ever snow man. The first one though, he was only 6 months old so maybe that one doesn't 'officially' count.

Please take note of the updated prayer request I will put up this weekend as well. There is a lot going on and a lot to be praying for, myself included.

Well, I better jump off here so I can head home and enjoy the night with my two favorite men along with Holly and Lilly. What a GLORIOUS day the Lord had made!!!

Love to all!

Free Potty Training

Okay, are any of you having as difficult of a time potty training their child like I am having??!! This is definitely the hardest thing I have yet to do as a parent. For a couple of days we are doing great and most everything is going in the potty during waking hours and then bam, "I DON'T WANT TO USE THE POTTY!!!". Sound familiar?? I hear it daily right now. I even tried the 'big boy' underwear trick on Saturday since we didn't go anywhere and that didn't help at all! We had gotton up to Easy Ups on a daily basis but we are now back to diapers! I'm frustrated and disappointed! I only hope that receiving the Free Potty Training Guide from Huggies will greatly help!!!

Enjoy!

Drugs, finally

Yes, drugs. A zpack that is, along with more Mucinex D. Finally, after two sinus infections since January and the last being over a week long, I gave in and went to the doctor. The verdict? An Upper Respiratory Infection with a viral Sinus infection. Fun fun huh!? I've had a miserable week and hope to get better quickly. Why? Because of this, I had to miss my good friend Mandy at church Sunday because I was home trying to get better.

I am still coughing and last night I had to go sleep in the living room in the recliner just so I could quit coughing and sleep, without waking anyone but the cat. Chloe doesn't mind tho, she follows me and will sleep with me where ever I may end up.

Blay got promoted to the Older Two Year Old class at school yesterday. I was sad. It's noteasy hearing him say "I want to go to Ms. Amy's class", which is the class he was just moved from. We finally got Ms. Amy in there as a full-time teacher and she was awesome! I hated he had to leave her in such a short time but everyone talks great about his new teacher, Ms. Tracy. She will even help them get potty trained (I hope).

More news, John finished painting the guest hall and bathroom this week and we have moved on to the dining room. I found two prints at Kirkland's yesterday. They are very similar to the two I currently had bought but the are more 'formal' looking and have better frames. I am just on the hunt for a larger picture now to put above my eventual buffet.

Well, this about sums up my life for the past week. We have a fun filled weekend coming up with the inlaws coming in for a visit. We are going to try to go to the aquarium and the Imax while they are here!

Love to all,

Can we start over?

I want a new start to the week beginning Sunday. Only this time I do not want it to include snow! Friday I had to leave work early because of snow. Saturday it snowed off and on all day but with sunshine.

Sunday we woke up to snow and a light dusting and it continued to snow all day thus causing Blay's school to close yesterday. That was kind of convenient since John was off work for President's Day. John took Blay out to play in what snow was left from the warm sun that appeared. Then, it started snowing again on my way home from work.

This is what our house and surroundings looked like this am when we woke up. Keep in mind that we had about a dusting a dusk on Monday.

I love when God paints the Earth. I makes the Earth seem so at peace and serene. I love to look for animals and watch them play in the snow. I like to play in the snow but I'm ready to give up the snow for a while and have spring-like weather. I'm past the winter, especially since I couldn't get out any to go hunt.

On another note, I am sick, again. I have another sinus infection but this time it is starting to settle in my chest. I have started myself on Mucinex D with thanks to my best buddy Jill but I have a feeling it isn't going to work this time. If not, off to the doctor I go. Speaking of, Blay goes for his 2 year visit on Thursday. I'm anxious to see how he has progressed and if he has moved up the percentiles any? He's been stuck between 15 and 25 percent since he was born. He's even dropped to 10% at times.

I have slacked recently in several things. One of course is blogging, two is my monthly meal plan, three is couponing, and four is laundry. Between being sick, working, chasing a two year old, and this crazy weather I feel like I just keep running around in circles. I was kind of looking forward to being home today so I could get caught completely up on my laundry, grocery stocking, and some house cleaning. I will have to do that now on another day.

Well, I guess I should run and work. I have to go pick up my hubby here shortly to bring him to his new-to-him truck we just purchased. Little did we know, when you have children, you have to 'up-size' everything!

Love to all,
