Tantrumless

Today was a good day. What do I mean by this? Limited tantrums....yep that's right. I have entered, or Blay has entered into the TERRIBLE TWO'S!!!! I was warned but couldn't of imagined.

Today was only about 2 or 3 tantrums which is a good day for us. We have been running an all day show. If you tell him no or take something from him he shouldn't have or tell him he can't have something he wants, like his favorite M&M's, then he starts. Yelling, crying, falling to the floor, rolling around kicking feet, and flailing arms. I never knew he could do this!!! It's weird. I've learned and am still learning how to best deal with most of them. I am waiting for an eruption in public...then, I don't know what I'll do.

This past Saturday, Blay got to see his Papaw Tim. Blay also got to ride on a bobcat. I got to drive it and drop a load of wood onto the burn pile. Dad is clearing his spot for the new house and John was helping him. Blay had fun helping mommy pick up wood and throwing it on the fire. He also just liked watching Papaw with the chain saw and his daddy on the bobcat.

Sunday we did our typical church day. Blay was good all day. I had nursery that morning so he was clingy but I was able to sneak out during Sunday School without a glitch.

Monday, he had a couple new sitters while I went to the Dentist and he did great for them, until I came home then he started his tantrums back up. Luckily, it was time for lunch and a nap so he calmed down quickly.

Mostly this week we have been enjoying the beautiful weather from the back porch or the neighbors trampoline, which is Blay's new spot for playing. And yes, he wanted me to jump yesterday so I did. This brought back a lot of memories!!!

Feeling better

Finally, a beautiful day outside and a day that Blay and I could both enjoy!!! After waking up sick (vomiting) on Monday, and then again during lunch at Mom's Day Out on Tuesday, I ended up taking him to the doctor on Wednesday. When he woke up Wednesday, his left eye was pink and swollen. He still had a nasty runny nose too.

I let him eat breakfast and then off we rushed to the early morning clinic at his Peds office. The diagnosis: Pink Eye and Severe Sinus Infection. The doctor couldn't believe the junk that was draining down his throat. She said that was the probable cause of his vomiting earlier in the week. That is hat I had suspected as well but I'm glad she confirmed it.

After getting his meds, I got to try to give him eye drops and distasteful medicine. He tolerated it good the first couple times but not any more. he won't come give his daddy or me a hug now because he thinks we are going hold him down to give him eye drops or his antibiotic. He also couldn't go outside for a couple days.

I was going to let him spend about an hour outside yesterday but I got up yesterday as sick as a dog. I think I had a 24 hour bug. Once my fever broke last night, I felt much better this morning. Neither Blay or I can still eat very well but we're working on it. Blay has been eating a good breakfast since Wednesday but not much else during the day, just a little here and there.

We went outside on the porch for a while after his nap and he seemed to tolerate it well so we let him go outside and run around. He enjoyed the neighbors trampoline and his toys as well. He was soo happy to be running around outside instead of being stuck in the house with another sick person. Pray John doesn't get it and that we all stay well!!!

The New 'TOY'

Okay, I know it says 'TOY' and it is, for Blay and his daddy. But in all honesty, I think it is for his daddy most of all. John's new 'toy'? A Kubota tractor, in UT orange. The picture below is of John and Blay on the toy the night John brought it home. This was last Friday. Good pic dad!

We took it to the land Saturday and Blay rode on it a little but John did a lot of work around the land with it. Our driveway is much better now! Blay also discovered tadpoles on Saturday. They are swimming around the dam at our pond. I put one in my hand with a little water and transferred it to Blay's hand. He thought it was the neatest thing. His facial expression was all I needed.

Last night, we went back to the land last night so John could mow the pond area and play on the tractor some more. Here are some more pictures with all of us on the tractor. Me? I'm learning to drive the thing....

Before the wind picked up last night, Blay and I went back to the pond to see if there were still some tadpoles. I pointed them out to him and he wanted to 'touch them'. I picked a couple more up again and let him hold them. This was until our big puppy dog decided she wanted in on it and got us soaking wet by jumping in the pond next to us. She then decided she wanted to shake her wet self getting us drenched. This ended up in us going in for the rest of the night!

Easter

I know I'm a little late but we've been busy.

On Saturday before Easter, we all went to my step mom's parents house for lunch and an egg hunt. Blay and I got there early so he could eat and go down for a nap before everyone arrived.

After laying down with him, he went to sleep only to be awakened a little too early by me so the kids could go hunt. They didn't want to wait on our little man any longer.

Blay did collect some eggs that day. He really wasn't awake or all that into it until the very end when the majority of the eggs were already gone. We got some good video footage of him at least trying.

After church on Sunday, I feed him lunch and put him down for a nap. After he woke up, we loaded up and went to my mom's house for an egg hunt and dinner. Blay had a blast with the eggs. He knew what to do on Sunday but was more interested in the dogs at the neighbors house that stayed at the fence. Blay even feed one of them a soccer egg with candy in it.

He also got to enjoy the trampoline with mommy and nana and poppy. He had a little playmate, his cousin Gavin. The picture below looks like Blay is putting him in his place. Enjoy this one and a few more. I have posted all of them on his Picasa site. The link is to the right.

Mamaw's visit

Blay had a week filled with fun. After cousin Elijah left, his Mamaw Judy came down. She stayed Wednesday through Friday and Blay loved all of it.

He was spoiled rotten from the beginning, first finding some stuff in his Easter basket from her. He also got to drive his Papaw's truck when it was moved out of the road.

Thursday he went to school where he got 'beat up' by a girl. He was a little fussy when we got there because he had just gotten 'beat up' by the girl. He came home and ate a snack then we took him for a walk at the lake. But before he went to the lake he had a surprise from his daddy. Here's the surprise....

Yes, Blay was in heaven...he absolutly loves the 'choo-choo'. After he got his Thomas, Mamaw and I took him to the lake. We walked around the lake, the pier, and the boat launch where he wanted to go. He wanted to go ride on a boat. He was mad we wouldn't take him down there. Here's Mamaw and Blay walking....

After we headed back around the lake, he started chasing the ducks and blue herons. He thought it was funny. He also wanted to touch the cold water. He loves water??? Not sure why really. Anyways, before we got back to the car, we let him feed the ducks with the only thing we had, Cheez-Its. Here's some pictures of it....

On the second pic, I was trying to figure out how to record with my new phone? Still don't know. Blay had a great time and the week didn't end here...then came Easter.

PS - EASTER pics are up in Picasa (access to the left)

An eventful week thus far

Has it ever been! I wish I would of taken pictues but everything is in it's place for the next 6 months so I didn't have the camera just 'sitting around' for all the cute moments between Blay and his cousin Elijah.

I had Elijah from Sunday to tonight. He's on Spring Break this week and my little sister needed a sitter for some of the week. I volunteered. Blay and Elijah had a blast playing! Blay did not know what to do with himself while Elijah was here. We even had to move the basketball goal from the nursery to the living room to give them more room to play! It was soo cute!

Blay had another great day at school. If he would only have those days for me. He's cutting an eye tooth and a molar right now so he's not being himself. He's also suffering from allergies with this crazy weather. Poor thing gets rid of the snotty nose only for it to turn cold and SNOW all over again, causing yet more snot!

Elijah and I went to a playground today and had fun. Yes, we were crazy (we were the only ones on the playground and walking around the war memorials) and played out in the freezing, snowy weather. He was in the house all day yesterday so he and I spent some time together while Blay was at school. We then went to Burger King then taught him how to shop grocery sales with coupons! He thought I was crazy.

I think Blay hated to see him leave. He gave Elijah a couple big hugs and kisses before they left. I tried to get Blay to eat some more dinner but all I could get down him was 3/4 a banana. Another early morning for him I'm sure!

We're now awaiting the arrival of Mamaw Judy!

April Fool's Day!!!

Good afternoon everyone! Happy April 1st. Spring is here and Easter is around the corner. Where has time gone. Blay is now 18 1/2 months old. It seems like yesterday we were just bringing him home from the hospital. I kind of miss those days.

We had a busy week and weekend. The above picture is from Fort Benning, GA. It's three generations of Duncan men. Last Thursday, John, Blay and myself drove to Fort Benning, GA to meet up with the rest of the Duncan clan for Pops' OCS Hall of Fame events. There was a formal dinner on Friday (thanks Aunt Judy and Uncle Joe for keeping Blay) and the actual induction was Saturday. Blay and I missed the induction because it occured during his naptime. Here are some pictures...

We left Friday night to arrive home at midnight to try and miss all the severe weather that was happening on Saturday. Also, on Saturday, I got my new dryer! I love it! Then, later Saturday night we went to church. We had a cookout and camp meeting to end revival month. It was a great service and singing.

Sunday, we just hung out at the house and went to church. Monday, Blay and I did about the same as Sunday, minus the Church.

Yesterday, Blay went back to school. He was a little timid at first but as soon as he saw Ms. Sharon, he was happy and blew me a kiss bye. He's rotten but I love him. We are goingt o try to go outside today since it isn't supposed to rain today and is suposed to be 71 degrees. We'll see if that happens.

March pictures are up on Picasa so please take a look at them and enjoy!
