Wednesdays for Wyatt

Here we go! Our second Wednesday for Wyatt! It’s quite simple to participate. All you have to do is copy and paste this post on your blog, and come back here to link up with MckLinky! Once you do that, your all set to win a great giveaway. Kristi, on of the dear women who follow my family's story has generously donated some handmade buckeye's jewelry. Thank you Kristi!

Over the last week we have gotten 123 new signatures! Over 100 of those we got last Wednesday alone. And we had 34 wonderful bloggers link up... I can't wait to see how much Wednesdays for Wyatt will grow this week!

For those of you who are not familiar with my family and what we are trying to achieve, here’s a brief run down...

Our son Wyatt was diagnosed with a fatal condition at our 18 week ultrasound, but chose to carry him to term. We waited to meet our son with love, all the time praying we would get to see him alive.

On June 1, 2009, Wyatt made his way into the world by c-section. To our amazement he had a faint heartbeat and was breathing! He died two minutes later, but I’ve clung to the two minutes my son and I breathed the same air since his passing.

Upon calling to get a copy of Wyatt’s birth certificate, I found out he was listed as a stillborn. You would assume it was a mistake (like I did), but there was no mistake. According to the definition of live birth in Tennessee my son was not “alive enough” to be deemed a live born baby. His two minutes of life has gone unrecognized by my state, and I intend to change this piece of legislation so I can solidify the validity of my son’s short life.

Wednesdays for Wyatt was created to help spread awareness for a law that needs to be changed, as well as to generate more traffic to my petition. So if you’re reading this, thanks for taking the time to help our family!

Thanks for your help with this!

Meet Blaylock

I know, weird title right? Well, Blay named his finished pumpkin last night, Blaylock. When I finished carving it for him, and put a candle in it, we asked him what he wanted to name his pumpkin and he said Blaylock! So, that is what we named him.

Blay was fussy after school yesterday but I think maybe it was because he didn't get his nap out or something. He was rubbing his eyes and and such so I think he was just really sleepy. He was in a good mood when he and John picked me up from the doctor so who knows what happened. Probably me...but what can I say!

Here are some pictures of our completed Blaylock for you to enjoy!

I had planned on dressing Blay up in a Korean pajama outfit and hoping he would wear the little cotton Korean mask that they wear over there. I have yet to try it on him but I have to do that and I am going to do it tonight. I hope it fits but if not, do any of you have any cute, quick suggestions, for him and for me?

Beginning of Pumpkin

Well, last night didn't go all as I had exactly planned but that happens a lot now a days. It's part of life and I can't controll every little minute of it.

To start with, Blay just completely dismissed me at daycare yesterday. When John and I got there, I spoke to him with the other kids and he just took off running, yelling 'Daddy' with his arms outstretched and went straight past me! I couldn't believe it! Needless to say, my feelings were hurt from my little man but he doesn't understand that. He wanted me after we got home so John had to take him outside so I could at least start dinner.

After we finished a great dinner, that didn't bother my belly, John and Blay went back outside so I could clean the kitchen up. Once that was done, I headed outside with my men so we could work on the pumpkin, and keep Blay from eating the worms and granddaddy long legs he kept finding. He calls spaghetti worms so...you get the picture!

We didn't get the pumpkin completely carved last night, but we did get the guts out of it so we can get going on the carving tonight. Blay has picked out a face from the carving book I bought last year. I would like to do a couple different ones but we only have one pumpkin....

Here are some pictures of us working on the pumpkin last night.

And, as the picture shows, I ended up doing most of the pumpkin gutting...Blay just wanted to see the seeds. Kai wanted in on some of the action too!

Over the Weekend

We didn't do a lot this weekend, mainly because I had another stomach 'attack' early Saturday morning that but me back on the BRAT/soft foods diet. This one wasn't as bad but still dibilitated me some. So when I go to the doctor for my physical tomorrow, I'm going to ask about it again. Hpefully, it's nothing major!!!

Since I was down and out on Satuday, I couldn't go do my sale/bargain shopping but John took Blay out for daddy/son time. Their first stop was at Lowe's. Every month they have a workshop just for kids and the kids make things. Last month it was a fire truck. Saturday, they made a Frankenstein Magic Trick. Here are a couple pictures of Blay on Saturday.

After Lowe's, they did some WalMart shopping for a few things where Blay acquired a newer, bigger backhoe. This is added to his collection which is rapidly growing. I'd say he has about 10 now. I've never seen a kid so obsessed with one particular toy! After WalMart, they stopped and got a pumpkin. The pumpkiin is still awaiting our carving, which we are going to try and do tonight.

Yesterday John and Blay when to church while I rested some more. I got enough energy to finish the laundry and do a little cleaning. Blay and I spent the day in the house since I didn't get to see him much on Saturday.

Daycare is going great for him. He goes in now without a problem and I think he's even acquired a little girlfriend. He said her name this morning when we got there with a smile! Young love.....
