Busy Weekend

We had a semi-busy weekend. Saturday, we went to our land to do a little work around the pond. Blay stayed at the trailer with Dad and Yo and Gabbie. They are living there while they are building their house. Mamaw and Papaw Little came up and brought the kids to the pond.

Dad caught a fish but the kids weren't there to see so I tried while they were there and kept catching leaves. It wasn't the best day to fish though because of the cold air and the wind. Later, we had Dad and Yo, and my sister and fiance and the kids over for dinner that night. We all had a goodtime and Blayed enjoyed the crazy kids here in his space.

Sunday, we went to church and Lowe's. Blay had an accident Sunday but is okay. On top of that, during our Sunday night fellowship dinner at church, Blay got hit in the head with a ping pong paddle. He's got a nice bruise where that happened.

Yesterday we hung out around the house. Not much to do with the air being so cold right now and the wind just makes it worse. Blay has been semi-eating a new pancake recipe. I can't taste the new ingredient of #2 squash in the blueberry pancake mixture but I think he maybe can. He ate them better today though than yesterday.

Well, I need to get to cleaning and stuff before a very busy afternoon.

18 months!!!!

Can you believe it? I certainly can not! My little 'baby' boy is growing up all too fast!!! I seems like yesterday I could just hold him for hours and he wouldn't say a word. Now I can't even hold him for 1 minute without him wanting down or voicing his opinion in something. My how fast time flies!!!

Blay had his 18 month checkup Tuesday after he got out of school. He was determined to be happy and healthy. Also, very calm and patient while the doctors worked with him and checked him out. No fussing or complaining there. He did fuss when I had to make him lay back to get his one and only shot. He hates to be laying down or held down for anything.

His measurements on Tuesday at 18 months:

weight: 23 lbs -- 20th percentile
height: 31 inches -- 15th percentile
Head: 19

The doctor also noted Blay has reached a good and early milestone. Instead of him walking and running (like he does all day long) he struts!! He said that was just funny and a good thing!

It's been a while, again

There just hasn't been a whole lot going on. I am shocked about the latest poll. All three votes were completely different. Luckily, I don't have to worry about it just yet but I'll be asking his doctor on his check up next Tuesday.

Blay had a Valentine Party yesterday at Mom's Day Out. He exchanged Valentine's with the other kids and ate all kinds of sugar. It hit him before bedtime last night.

He also ate cheese pizza and fruit while at school. Neither one can I get him to eat at home. Also, he got to make a sugar cookie. They said it took a lot to keep him from eating the sprinkles and icing while he was decorating the cookie. When eating the cookie after his dinner last night, he was just more interested in the sprinkles.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese this past Sunday for my nephew's 6th birthday party. Blay had an okay time. There wasn't a lot to do for someone his age. If there could of been more, he would of had fun. He did like it when Chuck E. Cheese came out during the birthday celebration though.

There's not a whole lot going on this weekend. John does get a three day weekend at home due to President's Day! I don't know what we are going to do but we'll figure out something. Playworld or the Park??? Who knows...

PS - I am behind on uploading new pictures to Picasa. I'll get to them this weekend. I promise.

ALSO, I am now selling AVON for a little extra money, so please...feel free to ask me for a brochure!

Good week

This week has been a good week. After returning home from Gatlingburg and Kingsport last week/weekend, we've gotten back on track.

John and I had a sunday school couples retreat to Gatlinburg Friday night so we left Blay in Kingsport with his Mamaw Judy. We went up Wednesday night though because John had to work Thursday up there. Blay was good for his Mamaw and Papaw Arnold and had fun with his cousins.

Sunday night, we went to a Super Bowl party. Blay was good, until he got tired and was ready to go. There is no 'bye-bye' or handwaving when he gets this way. He also did not eat dinner very well since there were so many people and so much commotion going on. He ate a little before bed but still woke up hungry in the night. He went right back to sleep though so no problems there.

Blay has also done well on napping for me and MDO all week. He was so tired this morning that he crawled up on the couch, laid his head down on my chest and was gone. He slept for about 1 1/2 hours on me. I didn't mind, I miss those days so I just laid there and let him sleep. He didn't sleep well last night and I'm not sure why. This was an early nap for him and the only one of the day. He ate a good dinner and before bed snack, so my guess is a nightmare??? Kind of weird.

Blay also received more comments from different workers at MDO this week. I had some say he was the cutest and sweetest and always seemed to mind any one (the don't know him to well :o), or maybe it's just me). He did good though playing with the other kids and taking naps. He didn't eat his chicken and potatoes for lunch Tuesday but ate when he got home.

His respiratory infection (yes, it returned I believe) is finally clearing up. I have been spraying some saline up his nose a couple times a day and it's drying up! Yeah, no more snotty messes for a while, I hope.
